Cria number two

We've had an exciting day today, Sienna decided that she would give birth.  My mum was pleased, it means that she can go home tomorrow happy that she has seen a birth this year.

It wasn't long after breakfast that I knew that Sienna had decided that today was the day.  She was at 352 days and being a maiden didn't really know what was going on.  She kept going to her best mate Princess Mallika who decided that she wasn't hanging round, Mallika is also due to birth anytime now.

It wasn't long before the rest of the herd noticed that something was going on, poor Sienna was being pursued.
Sienna gave birth to a lovely fawn female cria shortly after this photo was taken.  It has been a very lively cria even whilst inside Sienna and things haven't changed.  Sienna sat down through most of the birth and at one point the cria looked like she was trying to pull herself out!

Within a minute of being born she was kushed and soon up on her feet and at the milk bar.  Lualeni's baby has been dying for a playmate so was soon over and wanting to play much to Sienna's annoyance.  By mid afternoon though she was allowed a little play.

She is an absolute stunner and weighed in at 7.91kg and her little mate (who I think I have almost won the battle in naming Neelie (which I'll explain another night)) is not far behind now weighs 7.79kg.
